The Solution
The final product, Vision, delivered a more efficient and user-friendly experience through:
-
A sidebar chatbot that allowed users to ask data-driven questions and access previous conversations.
-
Flexible chatbot placement to avoid interfering with the data while offering a full-screen mode for focused interaction.
-
Improved accessibility and navigation across the platform.
Impact & Results
-
Increased user adoption by 75%
-
Helped convert 23 new clients
-
Reduced time spent on data retrieval by 30%, improving overall efficiency.
Optimizing recruitment with AI-powered insights

3. Chat Expansion
When expanded, the chat provides a more focused experience. The 'Back to Dashboard' option allows users to return to the sidebar chat view seamlessly.

4. Focused Flow
The next iteration of this experience will introduce a 'History' feature in the expanded view, along with additional enhancements.

1. Clear Path Forward
The 'AI Analyst' button is positioned at the top left of the side navigation for seamless and immediate access.

2. Chat Launch & Navigation
The chat slides in from the side of the screen, presenting users with a few options. They can engage in conversation directly from this view or expand it for a more focused experience.
This prototype showcases the chatbot's launch and expansion. Users can keep it minimized to view data in the background without interruption or expand it to full screen for a more immersive experience.
Project 1 - AI Insights Chat
The chatbot was designed to give internal and external users actionable insights through conversational AI. My focus was on building an intuitive experience that evolved across three major versions:
-
V1 introduced basic functionality: launching, closing, and asking questions.
-
V2 added sentiment feedback (thumbs up/down).
-
V3 enabled users to view and continue previous conversations.
I drew inspiration from industry standards like ChatGPT to streamline usability and design. Though the roadmap shifted due to prioritization and budgeting, the chatbot became a standout feature — driving upsell opportunities and tiered pricing models for Recruitics.

Goal:
Enhance the analytics platform by integrating an AI-powered chatbot and improving overall usability.
Overview
I was brought back on by Recruitics after working for them in 2019 to help launch their new “Vision” platform, as well as launching a new AI powered chatbot to help make more meaningful insights to the data. Towards the end of my contract, I redesigned their website to align more with the new aesthetic of the newly launched platforms.
Project 2 - Vision Platform Redesign & Launch
“Vision” was created to improve upon Recruitics’ existing “Analytics” platform — a sibling to “Action,” which lets users manage campaigns and budgets. While Action was actionable, Analytics struggled with clarity. Users often had difficulty interpreting data, requiring the Recruitics team to explain performance metrics on a near-daily basis — a major drain on time and resources.
Vision aimed to solve that by combining clearer UX with embedded reports from Looker (Google). The new experience allowed clients to self-serve more easily, reducing friction and increasing adoption.
Some of the key contributions I made included:
-
Differentiating Vision from Action: Users often confused the platforms due to similar UI. I introduced clearer visual distinctions and naming conventions.
-
Improving accessibility and clarity: The dark UI made interpretation harder. I lightened the interface with soft greys and whites, allowing the brand colors to shine and support user focus.
-
Enhancing usability: We encountered challenges with scrolling in embedded reports. I worked closely with engineering to create a seamless, scroll-friendly layout that felt more cohesive and intuitive.

Before: Original Interface
The original interface featured a dark, inaccessible UI that made it difficult to distinguish between the two sister platforms, as they shared nearly identical layouts. Additionally, the primary and background colors were misaligned with the established brand palette, leading to visual inconsistency.

After: Updated Interface
